Environmental Awareness Training<\/strong><\/p>\n

The actions of an industry, operation and its employees may have serious consequences for the environment, these can include significant legal consequences, for this reason it is important that employees are aware of and understand the topics covered in this course.<\/p>\n

The topics covered by this course include what constitutes the environment, the attendee\u2019s individual legal responsibilities regarding the environment, with emphasis on their responsibilities in the work place and their employer\u2019s environmental responsibilities.<\/p>\n

This course is adapted to include environmental aspects relevant to the respective client\u2019s operations.<\/p>\n

The duration of this course is between 4 hours and 1 day depending on the needs of the client.<\/p>\n


\nAn Introduction to the Environmental Legislation Requirements <\/strong><\/p>\n

In South Africa, the right to an environment that is not harmful to a person\u2019s health or well-being is a constitutional right. South African environmental legislation serves to guarantee and protect this right. It is important to be aware of and understand these legal requirements and their consequences. However, South African environmental law is dynamic and can be overwhelming for people who are not familiar with environmental legislation or who have not worked with it before.<\/p>\n

This course serves to equip attendees with an appropriate understanding of South African environmental legislation.<\/p>\n

This course also engages attendees with an understanding of how to interpret and understand South African law, especially Acts and Regulations, in order to assist them to interpret legislation on their own and to keep abreast of legislation as it is updated or amended.<\/p>\n


\nISO 14001 Environmental Management System <\/strong><\/p>\n

The ISO 14001 standard provides a framework for the effective management of environmental aspects within an organisation.<\/p>\n

At the end of this course attendees should feel confident in their understanding of the requirements of the ISO environmental management system and their ability to set up a management system at their place of work.<\/p>\n


\nCement Kiln Emissions<\/strong><\/p>\n

Our cement kiln emission courses are specialist courses that focus on the generation, abatement and measurement of emissions. These courses are designed for General Managers, Production Managers, Process Engineers\/Managers and Environmental Specialists. The duration of a course is one to four days.<\/p>\n

Cement Kiln Emissions for Kiln Operators\/Controllers<\/em><\/p>\n

This is an introductory course for Kiln Operators or Controllers that covers the basics of kiln emissions, the formation of individual gas streams, types of monitoring equipment, kiln processes that influence emissions and legal requirement associated with kiln operation. This is a half-day course.<\/p>\n

Cement Kiln Emissions for Process Engineers and Permitting Authorities<\/em><\/p>\n

The course is designed for all levels of operational and technical management in the cement industry and has previously been run successfully in South Africa at both industry and company level. This course is presented in cooperation with Josef Waltisberg of Waltisberg Consulting, Switzerland. This course has a duration of two or three days depending on the requirements of the client.
